You might remember me talking about this book in a previous book wish list post. It's been something I've been meaning to get for a little while then went ahead and purchased it earlier in the week.
The book contains tips, useful things to remember and fantastic advice that I think all designers, no matter how talented they may be, can benefit from.
I think this book will definitely be on my work desk as a source for assistance and guidance on a range of matters - well worth buying if you're a relatively inexperienced commercial designer like myself.
This week I have been having a few problems with difficult requests from the printers, which can be stressful when you aren't used to performing these tasks a lot. "Know Your Onions" covers a whole wide range of useful topics, including printing and I'm sure it will be my go to reference on design matters from now on.

Apps I Love #1
Firstly, It's some how March. I must not have been paying attention because it's really crept up on me. This weekend has been the first for a while we have enjoyed beautiful sunshine, which is so nice as it signals the start of spring!
Speaking of new things; I recently downloaded a new app I had read recommendations of on another blog. It's called Pudding.to and it's like Instagram but better (in my opinion). The variation of filters gives a really great outcome and I felt it was worth a dedicated blog post.
If you would like to download Pudding.to for free you can here if you're an iphone user. Or here if you use Android.
Here are some images of me using it and the lovely pictures it produced. Like Instagram, Pudding.to has a "community" and you can post and share images with other users. Unusually, you can add an accompanying song, your emotion at the time and other such details. I really like the idea of adding a a track to the image because it can bring back so many great memories.
